Perhaps you are stuck in a job or career you no longer find fulfilling but are afraid to make a change. Perhaps you haven’t fully acknowledged or healed from a childhood or other trauma and it’s weighing you down and preventing you from becoming the person you want to be. Maybe you're at a difficult crossroads – your romantic relationship is ending, your young adult children have moved out of the house, your partner or close family member has passed away, your job has ended – and you want to rediscover who you are and how you want to live the rest of your life. Perhaps you’ve been struggling to make decisions, feel ambivalent about the options in front of you, aren’t sure what is really important to you. Maybe your current life challenges, your childhood experiences, or some other hurt is fueling anxiety, intrusive negative thoughts, resentment, low self-esteem or depression symptoms that are making it hard for you to live the life you want and feel you deserve.
If you are experiencing these or similar challenges, I can help. I am experienced in working with adults who want to make change in their lives but aren’t sure how, who feel that something is “off” in their lives, but are not sure why or what is causing it, who want to change habits and patterns but need to support to sustain change efforts. I am experienced working with those who are looking to accept and let go of aspects of their lives they cannot control (past history, perceived failures, human limitations), and identify and work on those things they can change. I help diverse individuals gain clarity about their core values and beliefs, and help them work on living more in line with what is truly important to them.
I join with each client and their unique situation and personality, and make sure to tailor my approach to their particular needs. In general, my approach draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Family Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I enjoy my work with individuals, helping them learn about themselves, helping them find their strengths, and assisting them to find the courage to make positive changes in their lives.
